PCOS-induced Hair Loss & What You Can Do About It

PCOS or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, is a hormonal condition in women that can cause a range of symptoms including polycystic ovaries, irregular periods, primary infertility, hirsutism- an excess facial & body hair, and even hair loss.,etc.

PCOS & Hair Loss?

When you are dealing with PCOS hair loss as a young female, that typically is related to DHT or hormonally related loss.

One very common problem related to PCOS is Hair Loss in women (including young women). This hormonal disorder often leads to hyperandrogegism – a situation where your body produces high levels of male hormones, leading to a condition called Androgenetic Alopecia or female hair loss pattern.

For the average female typically androgenetic alopecia, or female pattern loss, would not happen until you are of the age 35. But when you have PCOS you end up changing the normal levels of sex hormones production in your body because PCOS consequently leads to higher male sex hormone levels and then lower natural estrogen.

When that happens you end up seeing an out- of- balance ratio which normally would be about 8 to 1 estrogen to male sex hormone in your bloodstream and that is what normally gives you this very high level of estrogen protection against the male sex hormone and DHT.

However, PCOS’s exact cause isn’t clear yet but, it’s also genetically common in families. And while it’s not curable, it can be treated.

With that being said,

How do you fix it?

If you’re dealing with PCOS and you’ve already gone through all the treatments, you might be on Spironolactone; you may have changed your diet and done some things to try to control it, but if you’re still losing hair… How do you fix it?

Well, from a hormonal perspective you really have to drive at it from attacking DHT.

For this, a very simple 3 personal remedy approaches would be significant in your daily self care routine. This, however, is not a quick fix solution to your PCOS-induced Hair Loss. It takes a lifestyle approach in lessening the worst condition from PCOS.

Pharmaceutical Approach:

This natural route involves simply consuming an oral nutritional supplement called the DHT blocker with immune support.

This is going to help block the amount of DHT binding to the hair follicle receptor site internally so it doesn’t have really a major systemic influence. It may accidentally balance out your hormones a little bit but really it’s designed to decrease the impact of DHT on the hair follicle.

Topical Serum Approach :

Additionally, you will need to use a topical DHT blocker & scalp serums with ingredients to promote hair growth & help block the impact of that DHT on the hair follicles.

Application of such DHT blocker & scalp serum as your nightly maintenance for at least 90 days will show significant changes in your hair loss issues from PCOS

Nutritional & Dietary Approach:

Typically for women with PCOS their menstrual cycle will be disrupted for over a significant course of time either with unusual prolonged or no cycle at all. In case of prolonged menstrual cycle, many nutrients from the blood keep on losing.

Iron deficiency is among the main causes of hair loss, and people with PCOS typically have lower ferritin levels. Eating foods that are rich in iron and/or taking iron supplements can help raise iron levels.

Simple blood tests can determine how much of these vitamins and minerals there are in the body and how much to take for dietary supplements.
